Clinton – Diane Marie (de Mello) Comeau, 57, of Clinton, formerly of Hudson and Marlborough, died at home Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Steven E. Comeau until his death in 1992.

Diane was born in Marlborough, daughter of the late Peter George de Mello Sr. and Alice Elizabeth (Avery). She was raised in Hudson and resided in Hudson and Marlborough for most of her life. She has spent the past seven years in Clinton, and most recently had spent the past few months with her daughter in Maynard.

Diane’s passion was her creativity in arts and crafts. She donated most of her works, most recently to local hospitals for the care of premature babies. She always looked forward to gathering with family, and especially enjoyed the times she shared with her loving grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Steven C. Comeau and his wife Lisa of Hudson, Paula J. Booth and her husband Andrew of Maynard, and Elizabeth L. Afonso and her husband Joseph of Jefferson. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Cory and John Comeau, Steven and Grace Booth, and Albert Afonso; her three brothers, Rick, Peter, and Robert de Mello; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are encouraged to attend a graveside service to be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m., in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 5-7 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
