Vero Beach, Fla. – Regina A. (Lage) Melamede, 84, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Hudson and Milford, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was the beloved wife of 23 years to the late Robert J. Melamede, who died in 1992.

Regina was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Antonio and Gracinda (Botelho) Lage. She attended local schools and was a 1948 graduate of Hudson High School. She had resided in Florida since 1971 and always looked forward to visiting with family and friends yearly in Hudson.

She was employed as an analyst for many years with the former Eastern Airlines Co. in New York, N.Y. and Miami, Fla.

She is survived by her sister, Natalie T. Cenedella, wife of the late Edward Cenedella of Hudson; her brother, John D. Lage and his wife Marilyn of Haverhill; her two nieces, Carol A. Quinn, wife of the late William Quinn and their children of Readsboro, Vt. and Barbara C. Maglione and her husband Richard and their children of Hudson; and her nephew, Edward Cenedella Jr. and his wife Sharon and their children of West Springfield. She is also survived by her three step-children, Robert Melamede Jr. and his children of Vermont, Michelle Constandis and her husband Dechu and their children of Florida and New Jersey, and Suzanne Kovacs and her husband Lotsi and their children of Canada.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 10, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial services will be held at a later date in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, Oct. 9, from 2-5 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
