Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4York, Maine – Frederick C. Jaissle, 101, of York, Maine, formerly of Hudson, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014. He was married for 63 years to M. Dorothy (McGorty) Jaissle, who died in 2009.

Born in New Rochelle, New York, he was the son of Charles and Anna (Bauer) Jaissle. He moved to Hudson and worked at the Hudson Post Office for 25 years and the Light and Power for 10 years. He was a Navy World War II veteran serving on the U.S.S. Santa Fe. He was proud of his military service and attended Santa Fe reunions all over the country.

Frederick was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson and Saint Christopher’s Parish in York. He was a life member and PER of the Hudson Lodge of Elks #959, Hudson VFW Post 1029, York American Legion, Hudson Seniors Club, York Senior Center, USS Santa Fe Reunion Association, Hudson High Athletics Boosters Club, Hudson Historical Society and NALC Branch #12.

He is survived by his daughters, Michele Vail of Port Angeles, Washington; Gretchen Seaver and husband Russell of York Beach, Maine; and Jennifer Jaissle Daugherty of Homosassa, Florida. He also leaves his granddaughter, Marie Seaver Drake, and his great-grandson, Scott Drake of York Beach. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline, who died in 1951; a sister, Margaret Seche of New Rochelle; and his sons-in-law, Robert Vail and Michael Daugherty.

Services will be private with interment in Saint Michael’s Cemetery in Hudson.
