Obit Gerald HartEast Falmouth – Gerald W. “Gerry” Hart, 77, of East Falmouth and formerly of Marlborough, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 at Milford Regional Medical Center.

He was born in LaSalle, Illinois, the son of the late Doris Biolchini and William Hoar and stepson of John Spelich, and raised in Oglesby, Illinois. He was a graduate of St. Bede Academy, Peru, Illinois. He also received a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University and later a law degree from Suffolk University in Boston.

After graduating from the University of Illinois College Of Electrical Engineering, he was employed at the Raytheon Co. as a microwave and antenna design engineer for 36 years. He met his wife, Anne Kelleher at Raytheon and they were happily married for 53 years.

Gerry was a longtime resident of Marlborough and moved to Falmouth after retiring in 1997. In retirement, he volunteered at the Falmouth Service Center and enjoyed traveling, golf, fishing and reading. He was a true gentleman, caring and kind.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his three children, Eileen Pyne and her partner Ken Waugh of Girdwood, Ak., Julie O’Reilly and her husband John of Northborough, and Alicia McHugh and her husband David of Sterling; five grandchildren, Meaghan, Brendan, and Erin O’Reilly and Connor and Nolan McHugh; a sister, Judy Marzetta of Utica, Il.; his stepsister, Barbara Hoffman of Hilo, Hi.; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Friday, Oct. 17, from 4-7 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home.
