Shrewsbury – Charles Mardirosian Jr., 83, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday Nov. 5, 2014 under the loving care of his family. Charlie’s wife of 58 years, Anne Marie (Fyrbeck), passed away in May 2013.
Charles was born in Worcester, son of the late Charles and Helen (Aucoin) Mardirosian. He grew up in the Morningdale section of Boylston, moved to Shrewsbury 58 years ago, and lived on Oval Drive for 51 of those years.
He worked for Joseph A. Polito & Sons Construction Company for 37 years.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Dawn Vigliatura and her husband Edward of Shrewsbury, and his three sons, Scott and his girlfriend Georgia Mongeon of Worcester, Kevin and his wife Elizabeth of Charlton, and Mark of Shrewsbury, who devoted the last five years of his life to care for both Charles and Anne. He leaves his five grandchildren, Jason and Alex Vigliatura, Michelle Smith, and Ericka and Shelby Mardirosian, along with his brother, Donald Mardirosian of Princeton, and his sister, Elsie Ordway of Bow, N.H. He was predeceased by a sister, Grace Fazio, and a brother, Alan Mardirosian.
The family would like to thank the nurses and the home health aides from the VNA Care Network and hospice for their loving care and support.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours Friday, Nov. 7, from 4-7 p.m., at the Britton- Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 in Pine Grove Cemetery of Boylston. A procession to the cemetery will be leaving the funeral home at 10 a.m.
