Northborough – The Veterans Day ceremony at Lincoln Street School has become an annual tradition. This year’s celebration was held Nov. 7 in the school cafeteria featuring the Color Guard from Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post 234 and members of the military who have a connection to Lincoln Street School students. During the ceremony, each military parent, grandparent or friend was introduced and thanked for their service. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade honored veterans with patriotic songs and the newly elected Student Council gave a presentation on the history of Veterans Day. A special tribute was given to Army Specialist Brian Arsenault, a Northborough resident who died in Afghanistan Sept. 4.
In addition to the assembly, students again donated their Halloween candy to Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends care packages to the troops.
