Northborough – Dora “Dot” E. (Lara) Maloney, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester. She was 89. Her devoted husband of 52 years, John J. Maloney Sr., died in 2000.
Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of Cristy and Efthimia (Papandili) Lara and a graduate of Commerce High School.
She leaves her loving children, Mark Maloney of Shrewsbury, Kevin Maloney of Worcester, John Maloney Jr. of Shrewsbury, Maureen Amour of Shrewsbury, Sharon Santiago of Worcester, and Gail Anderson of Dudley; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flo and Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
A devout Catholic, Mrs. Maloney loved her St. Rose of Lima Parish, where she was a longtime member. She was a loving mother and grandmother who truly lived for her family.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, from 5-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Her funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
