Donations sought for homeless veterans

Region – This year, the nonprofit organization Valiant Veterans is adopting the veterans at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans and providing each of them with holiday “Go Bags” containing the essentials they need as well as a few holiday treats.

The public is asked to consider donating to this project by purchasing one or more of these requested items: thermal socks, hats, gloves, and scarves, hand warmers, tooth brushes, tooth paste, body wash, shampoo with conditioner, razors, shaving cream (men and women’s), hot chocolate, holiday candy, protein bars or cereal bars, and chewing gum. Holiday cards with personalized notes of support and appreciation are also welcome.

Donations may be dropped off at: Hebert Candy Mansion, 574 Hartford Turnpike, Shrewsbury (Nov. 6 through Dec. 15); Lunenburg Gulf, 451 Massachusetts Ave., Lunenburg (Nov. 10 through Dec. 15); Gibson’s Natural Pet, 994 Grafton St., Worcester, and Gibson Kennels, 139 Upton St., Grafton (Nov. 24 through Dec. 15).
