Northborough – Charles “Charlie” F. Sargent passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at home after a battle with cancer. He was 68.

He leaves his devoted wife, soul mate, and high school sweetheart of 48 years, Maureen A. (Ellsworth) Sargent; his son, Matthew and his wife Cathy of Douglas; and his grandson, Zachary Sargent. A brother, Richard Sargent, predeceased him.

Born in Boston, son of the late Clifton and Lucy (Dunn) Sargent, he was a lifelong resident of Northborough. He graduated from Algonquin Regional High School, attended Boston University, and graduated from Worcester Jr. College. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed in the Philippines.

Charlie was employed with Arcadia Solutions out of Burlington as an I.T. specialist until the time of his death.

During his high school years, Charlie excelled in football and baseball. Later in life, he enjoyed golf and was an avid movie buff.

Calling hours will be held Monday, Dec. 1, from 5-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. A service honoring Charlie will take place Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
