Obit Carl HeadbergMarlborough – Carl E. Headberg, 87, of Marlborough, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center after an illness.

Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late A. Edward and Alice (Scott) Headberg and the husband of Alma (Munroe) of Marlborough, to whom he had been married for the past 65 years.

A 1945 graduate of Peter’s High School in Southborough, he had been employed as a quality control supervisor at the former Dennison Manufacturing Company, Framingham, for many years.

He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Marlborough. He was also an active member of the United Brethren Lodge of Marlborough and a Past Master serving in 1971, as well as the lodge’s chaplain for over 18 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Carl Headberg Jr. of Hudson and Edward Headberg and his wife Jane of Shrewsbury; his daughter, Linda McDonald and her husband William of Pepperell; his sisters, Elna Headberg of Marlborough and Alice Hjulstrom of Medway; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Deborah Meyers and the brother of the late Edward Headberg.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 5-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough A funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Highland Street, Berlin.
