Westborough/Shrewsbury – Chabad of Westborough will sponsor its annual Public Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration at the Shrewsbury Town Common, Route 140 and Main Street, on the first night of Chanukah, Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m., and at Westborough Center at the rotary, Sunday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. Delicious holiday refreshments will be available including, Chanukah gelt (chocolate coins), doughnuts, and hot cocoa. Dreidels will also be given out. Town Selectmen and other dignitaries will participate in the festivities. Admission is free and open to all members of the community.

Both locations will display a nine-foot menorah throughout the Chanukah holiday, which begins at sundown Tuesday, Dec. 16, through Wednesday, Dec. 24.

“We are looking forward to seeing everyone in the community for this annual event,” said Dvora Green, Chabad spokesperson and coordinator. “We look forward to welcoming the Chanukah spirit into the community together.”
