Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Shrewsbury – Robert A. “Bob” Connors, 90, of Shrewsbury, passed quietly Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014.

Bob leaves his wife and best friend, Mary M. (Wynne) Connors, and many nieces and nephew throughout the country. He was predeceased by several of his siblings.

He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Lawrence J. and Honoria E. (Casey) Connors. He graduated from Commerce High School and then enlisted in the United States Army. He served honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a staff sergeant with the 614th Bomb Squadron and the 401st Bomb Group, which was active in the Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns.

Bob had been employed by the Worcester Public Schools as a senior custodian for over 39 years, retiring in 1989.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob’s family Sunday, Dec. 14, from 2-4 p.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St. His funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 15, from the funeral home, with his funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
