Letter to the Editor: WEF thanks community for Trivia Bee success

31

The Westborough Education Foundation (WEF) would like to thank our local sponsors and donors, teams from local businesses and companies, teachers and administrators, parent groups and sports organizations, and volunteers who made the seventh annual Trivia Bee a huge success. Thank you for supporting the Westborough Education Foundation. The Trivia Bee, the foundation’s largest fundraiser, brings together many groups from across the community and has allowed WEF to award over $270,000 in grants since its inception.

Close to 600 people packed the DoubleTree Hotel ballroom Nov. 3. The event raised more than $18,000 to support educational grants to teachers and administrators from across all six of Westborough’s public schools.

The enthusiastic crowd cheered their favorite teams as they fought through their preliminary rounds and ultimately six teams went on to compete in the final round. Many of the participants added to the festive atmosphere by dressing in costume. The kids got in on the action, too, with games led by Matt Travis of Athletic Revolution.
