Marlborough Early Childhood Center extends preschool lottery application deadline

Marlborough – The Marlborough Early Childhood Center (MECC) Preschool announced that it is extending its lottery application deadline for the 2015-16 school year to Wednesday, Jan. 14.

The MECC is an integrated preschool program serving both special needs and general education students. A child must be 2.9 years old to be eligible to attend the ECC. Classes are grouped according to students’ age/anticipated kindergarten start year.

Currently, the MECC is a half-day, tuition-based program located at 17 Washington St. Morning sessions are 9-11:30 a.m., and afternoon sessions are 12:30-3 p.m. Tuition rates are currently under review, and updated rates will be posted by Thursday, Jan. 15, pending School Committee action. Tuition assistance is available using income eligibility guidelines.

Space is limited, and parents interested in enrolling their general education students in the program enter a lottery. Details of the lottery/enrollment process as well as the lottery application (plus translations) are available online at www.mps-edu.org on the MECC’s school webpage.

Lottery applicants who submit their paperwork after the Jan. 14 deadline will be placed on a waitlist.

Questions about the preschool programs and the lottery can be directed to MECC at 508-460-3503, ext. 11639.
