Region – The 13th Just ‘Cause Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk is scheduled for May 29 – 31. An informational/orientation meeting regarding the walk will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Bolton Public Library Meeting Room, 738 Main St.
The monies raised by this walk make a difference to the two recipient organizations: the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden, Harvard, and the Mass. General Hospital Breast Cancer Research Fund. A unique feature of this fundraiser is that 100 percent of the funds raised is donated to these recipients and administrative/logistical costs are financed by the walkers’ registration fees and in-kind donations from local residents and businesses.
The Just ‘Cause Walk offers flexible participation to all levels of walkers. There are registration options for walking the full 60 miles, walking one or more half-day sections, and even for “virtual” walkers. There is also the option to adjust the choice of walking involvement after registration. All walkers commit to raising $1,000. Leaders at the January meeting will address fundraising and training activities and walkers from previous years will be available to share their tips.
