Obit Eva AmeralSouth Grafton – Eva C. (DeCosta) Ameral, 86, of South Grafton, formerly of Marlborough, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2014. Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Joseph (Tieves-Ferreria) DeCosta and the wife of the late Gerald Ameral, who died in 1995.

A graduate of Cambridge Latin High School, Mrs. Ameral had been employed at the Raytheon Corp. in Wayland, Sudbury, and Marlborough, where she worked in the Document Control Department.

She retired in 1994 from a job she truly enjoyed and was proud to hold. She looked forward to her vacations in North Conway, happily spoiled her “precious” grandchildren, and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her son, Richard K. Ameral and his wife Enid. Z. of Hudson; her daughters, Jane E. Pelletier and her husband Don of Holden and Karen E. Mitchell and her husband Steven of South Grafton; and her grandchildren, Christopher Milton, Amanda Simard and her husband Keith, Shaun Mitchell, Stevie G. Mitchell, Richard J. Ameral, Michelle A. Ameral, and Charles Broomfield. She was also the sister of the late Isabel Pascucci and Mary Dayton.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 11, from 2-4 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m., at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
