Marlborough – Irene L. (Gour) Waterman, 73, of Marlborough, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at her home. Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Eleanor (Shea) Gour and the wife of the late Henry Waterman, who died in 2003.

She had been employed as a teller at Avidia Bank, Marlborough, retiring in October 2014. She had previously been employed by Colburn Engineering in Hudson as a draftsman.

A lifelong member of the former St. Mary’s Parish, Irene volunteered much of her time to parish activities. She was a member of the Assumption Guild and past treasurer, sang in the parish choir, served as a Eucharistic Minister, managed the 500 Club, assisted at weekly bingo, and organized many bus trips.

Irene is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Bernier and her husband Matthew and Karen Arsenault and her husband Bruce, all of Marlborough, and her grandchildren, Rachel and Michael Bernier and Brad and Tina Arsenault. She was also the sister of the late Donald Gour and Gloria Courtemanche.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery of Marlborough.
