Obit Annamma A. FernandesMarlborough – Annamma A. Fernandes, 64, of Marlborough, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of Alex J. Fernandes for the past 39 years.

She was born in Kerala, India, the daughter of the late Iype and Alyamma (Joseph) Chacko, and was raised and educated in India. She moved to the United States in 1996, and had lived in Waltham until 2011. She then moved to Marlborough, where she lived ever since.

Annamma worked at both Boston Scientific and Hologic. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and K.A.N.E. She will be remembered as a kind, hard- working woman that always helped others, even during her illness.

Annamma enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Besides her husband, she leaves behind two daughters, Blossom P. James and her husband Shibu of Milford and Bernice G. Gershenson and her husband Igor of Worcester; two brothers, Joseph Iype and his wife Mariakutty of India and Iype Geevarghese and his wife Dolly of Weston; a sister, Mariam James and her husband Policarp of Burlington; and two granddaughters, Emma and Ava. She was the sister to the late Paulose Iype, Chacko Iype, and Alikutty Cherian, all of India.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 24 in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours will be held Friday, Jan. 23, from 5-8 p.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
