Mickael Jette, 25, of Brighton

Obit Mickael JetteBrighton – “All men of action are dreamers.” Mickael Alexandre Jette was a dreamer. He died shortly after skiing at Sunday River in Maine in an auto accident Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015. He had just turned 25. He had said to his friends that “it was the best day ever skiing.” Any of Mickael’s excursions and adventures were just that: the best!

Born Jan. 10, 1990, he was the son of Eric and Emmanuelle (Duchateau) Jette. He was educated and raised in Shrewsbury, where he graduated with the class of 2008. He played lacrosse and was honored with the Telegram & Gazette All Star award, and also played on the varsity football and soccer teams. He graduated from Northeastern University in 2013 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Mickael had a spirit of adventure and challenge. He loved all things outdoors from skiing, golf, fishing, and surfing, and he was a natural at all of them. He travelled the world, from his mother’s native Paris, across all of France and much of Europe, throughout the Caribbean, the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, and more recently really enjoyed Costa Rica.

Mickael had a keen fascination with architecture and the arts, and had a dream of experiencing the world and all it has to offer. He was a guy that wanted to make a difference in the world. Currently, he was working at Boston Scientific and living in Brighton, but Mickael had dreams of working and living in Europe. He was going to make the world a better place.

He was living life and loving every moment while wondering what might lie around the next corner: another marathon after having completed Chicago’s marathon or a surfing trip to Costa Rica or another phenomenal family week in Brewster on Cape Cod.

Above all Mickael’s family and close knit friends are what completed his world. His mother, Emmanuelle, and her present battle with cancer became his priority. It was more than just a check in as to how she was feeling. He researched and studied her disease and investigated the doctors so that her care was the best she can receive. It’s in her honor and in his memory that donations be directed to http://www.gofundme.com/kv53gk.

To live on in the hearts of others is not to die. Mickael leaves his parents, Eric and Emmanuelle; his brothers, Remy and Stephan; his grandparents, Jean-Louis and Michele Duchateau in France and Robert Jette and his wife Lisa and Ellen Mowrey; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will make certain his life and dreams live on.

Family and friends will honor and remember Mickael’s life by gathering for calling hours Friday, Jan. 30, from 4-8 p.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, and again Saturday, Jan. 31 in the First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., where his funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Thomas Caswell will officiate.
