Westborough – The Shrewsbury High School Colonials defeated the Marlborough High School Panthers 5-2 Feb. 7 at NorthStar Ice Sports.
The Colonials jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Dante Simone and Dan Quinlivan early in the first period. The Panthers fought back to even the score with two power play goals, one by Connor Lind late in the first period and one by Patrick McCarthy in the second period.
The Colonials then went on a rampage, scoring three goals in just under three minutes to take control of the game. Adam Twitchell, Jack Quinlivan and Anthony Quinlivan all scored during this second period run.
There are four Quinlivan brothers currently playing on the Colonials ice hockey team, seniors Jack and Dan, and freshmen Anthony and Liam.
The Colonials improve to 13-3 on the season while the Panthers fall to 3-10-1.
