Obit Michael AugerShrewsbury – Michael Auger, 60, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, surrounded by his family, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester following a battle with cancer. His wife Cheryl (Polselli) Auger passed away in 2002.

Mike is survived by his children, Ashley Auger, Brandon Auger, Alissa Langevin and her husband Dennis, Henry O’Neil and his wife Donna, Dawn O’Neil, Michael Auger Jr., and Jeremy and Shawn Auger. He also leaves his brother, David Auger and his wife Debbie; his sister, Elaine Small; and many uncles and aunts that were very near and influential throughout his life, as well as eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His son, Michael O’Neil, predeceased him, also in 2002.

Mike was born April 17, 1954 in Whitinsville, son of the late Lucille (Lemoine) and Walter Auger. He grew up in Sutton, married the love of his life Cheryl in 1981, and they moved to Shrewsbury 25 years ago where they raised their family.

Mike lived his life spending his time and energy on his family’s happiness, and this is his legacy. From an early age he knew what a full day’s work was; for 28 years he was an insulator with Imperial Worldwide in Shrewsbury. When he found time to get away with his family you might have found him in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, or at Purgatory Chasm or Mount Wachusett closer to home as he always loved the outdoors.

His family asks that in his memory you honor Mike with memorial contributions to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, c/o VNA Care Network and Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.

All are invited to gather with Mike’s family and friends Thursday, Feb. 12, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., N. Grafton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. All attending the funeral Mass are politely requested to go directly to the church. Burial will be private in accordance with his wishes. Directions and a guestbook to share a memory of Mike or message of sympathy with his family are available online at www.RoneyFuneralHome.com.
