Hudson – Agnes T. (Butler) Hawes, 89, of Hudson, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of 25 years to the late Edward F. Hawes, who died in 1990.

Agnes was born and raised in Cambridge, daughter of the late James and Norah (Lyons) Butler. She resided in Hudson for many years and took great pride in the care of her home and raising her son. In 2005, she moved to Worcester to live with her son, Ned, and his family. She was employed as a secretary by the Data General Co. in Westborough for many years until retiring in 1990.

Agnes enjoyed the simple things in life and cherished being around her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and loving grandmother. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her son, Edward “Ned” Hawes of Worcester, and her grandson, Dylan E. Hawes of Worcester. She also leaves several other relatives and dear friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 20, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, Feb. 19, from 6-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
