Region – Commerce Bank recently presented the United Way of Central Massachusetts with a check for $95,000, representing the donation by the Bank and its employees from their 2014 fundraising campaign.

“The United Way of Central Massachusetts is humbled and awed by the generosity of the employees of Commerce Bank and by the example Commerce Bank sets to be deeply involved in the progress of our community,” said United Way of Central Massachusetts President and CEO Timothy J. Garvin.

Nearly 80 percent of employees contributed to the bank’s 2014 United Way campaign, and total employee donations increased by 20 percent over the previous year.

“I am extremely proud of our employees, who went above and beyond in their support of the United Way of Central Massachusetts,” said Commerce Bank President and CEO Brian W. Thompson. “We are pleased to help the United Way fund the critical services that so many in our community depend upon.”
