Obit Richard SeymourMarlborough – Richard M. Seymour, 78, of Marlborough, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Born in Sudbury, he was the son of the late Arthur and Opal (Hudson) Seymour and the husband of Jeannette (Walcott) Seymour of Marlborough.

Mr. Seymour was educated in the Marlborough school system and Worcester Boys Trade School prior to joining the National Guard, where he served in the 181st Infantry Division. He had been employed by Polaroid Co., Cambridge, for 22 years as a member of the engineering support team. For the past 30 years he had served as president of Seymour Associates, Inc. of Hudson.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Deborah Neale and her husband William of N. Attleboro, Peter Seymour of Shrewsbury, Paul Seymour of Worcester, and Philip Seymour and his wife Maria of Hudson; his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Seymour of Auburn; his brother, Robert Seymour and his wife Dorothy of DelRay Beach, Fla.; his sisters, Beverly Hutch and her husband William of Marlborough and Helen Flannery and her husband Robert of Raleigh, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Richard C. Seymour, who died in 2013, and Paula Seymour, who died in 1959, and the brother of the late Francis Seymour, Karen Funk, and Ruth Marshall.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 6, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Burial will be held at a later date.
