Obit Anita RiccaShrewsbury – Anita R. (Joubert) Ricca, 89, of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the Shrewsbury Nursing Home. Her husband, Joseph Ricca, died in 1989.

She leaves a daughter, Sandra A. Bishop of Shrewsbury; a son, Joseph A. Ricca and his wife, Mary Ann Preskul-Ricca of Shrewsbury; three grandsons, Michael, Anthony, and Joseph Peter; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nicholas; two sisters, Jeannette Tripaldi of Millbury and Rita Jermain of Auburn; and a brother, Richard Joubert of Harrisville, R.I. She was predeceased by a brother, Elzer Joubert, and three sisters, Dolores Belanger, Dorothy Ouimette, and Shirley Beaucage.

Anita was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Napoleon W. and Helen (Scott) Joubert, and had lived in Shrewsbury since 1946.

Anita was an extremely talented cook; she put her cooking experience to good use by working in the cafeteria at St. John High School in Shrewsbury for 20 years. Previously, she had worked at the Old Canada Dry Bottling Company. She also enjoyed keeping her home and tending to her well-manicured yard.

She adored her children; her son was the sunshine of her life. She loved her whole family with all her heart but she had a special place for her heart for grandsons and great-grandchildren.

Everyone who knew Anita would politely say she was the sweetest lady they had ever had known.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Anita’s family Saturday, March 7, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will also be on Saturday, with a funeral Mass celebrated at noon in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
