Shrewsbury – Frances L. (Crowley) Hardy, 91, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully Sunday, March 8, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, in the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband, Richard F. Hardy, died in 2002.
Frances leaves two daughters, Suzanne E. Roy of Shrewsbury and Deborah A. Tebo of Brewster; her son, Richard F. Hardy II of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Jennifer Dolat of Holden, Denis Andrew Roy of San Francisco, Calif., Meridith Buono of Shrewsbury, and Matthew Tebo of Clifton Park, N.Y.; and seven great-granddaughters, Allison and Juliana Dolat, Eliana and Sophia Buono, Olivia Roy, and Inara and Talia Tebo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Priscilla Billingham of Shrewsbury. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Crowley; her sister, Florence Hayes; and her son-in-law, Denis Roy.
Frances was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Henry Arthur Crowley and Mary Rose (Ducharme) Crowley. She was raised in Nahant and later graduated from North High School.
She was a kind, faith-filled person who loved her family and her friends, and was an active member of St. Anne’s Parish for many years, where she sang in the choir, and participated in The RCIA Program. She also enjoyed gardening, was well known for her beautiful flower gardens, and skied and golfed until she was in her late seventies.
Frances’ family would like to thank the entire staff of the memory care unit at Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all the compassionate care given to Frances during her stay there.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, March 12, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
