Hudson – Gerard S. “Gerry” Laviano, 59, of Hudson, died unexpectedly Monday, March 9, 2015 at Marlborough Hospital.

Gerry was born in New York, N.Y., son of the late Gerard P. and Jean (Carty) Laviano. He was raised in Hudson where he attended local schools and was a 1973 graduate of Hudson High School.

He was currently employed by the Hudson Department of Public Works in the Water Department He was a member of the Hudson Odd Fellows and Member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Gerry had many interests in his life, but, most of all, he truly cherished giving back to the community of Hudson, a community he was proud to be a part of. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with friends in local leagues during the golf season. He also looked forward to playing pool when he had the chance. He was a unique person and was loved by all, especially by his family and close friends. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Laviano of Sonoma, Calif.; his nephew, Nicholas Laviano of California; and his niece, Leah Laviano-Watson of Norfolk, Va. He also leaves his many cousins and friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 13, from 5-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gerry may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
