What are your earliest basketball memories?
“My earliest memories from playing ball are from playing at Friendly House [in Worcester], where I then grew, and got better with my game.”
Who taught you the game of basketball, and how did he or she encourage you to succeed?
“My sister taught me the game. I grew up by her side watching her play AAU [Amateur Athletic Union], high school and collegiate level. She has been a big factor in my life. She has encouraged me to succeed at basketball through always giving me tips and lessons on how to get better. Win or lose, she always lets me know on what I could have done better on either offense or defense.”
What would you consider to be the best part of your game?
“The best parts of my game are my IQ for the game and my ability to take over a game. I’m told very often that I’m a very smart player, and my passing ability is up there, too.”
What was it like to be such a big part of the Pioneers’ success this season?
“To be a part of SJ is already something special, being a part of the basketball team is a blessing. Not many kids from Worcester can say they go to SJ and play on their ball team. Playing for Coach Foley and contributing to this team in a big way is also a blessing.”
What has been the single most special game during your young basketball career?
“The most special game in my young career so far was when I got a chance to go to Florida with my AAU team and won eighth grade [Division 2] Nationals.”
What would you like to accomplish in your time left at Saint John’s?
“During my time left at SJ, I would like to win a state title, and prove to everyone that I’m one of the best guards in Massachusetts.”
Have you narrowed it down to any particular colleges yet?
“No, I have not narrowed it down yet.”
What is your favorite NBA team and who is your favorite player?
“My favorite team in the NBA is the Oklahoma City Thunder, but my favorite player is Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls. He can attack the rim and finish. He also shoots and passes very well. He knows how to take over games and get his teammates involved for high percentage shots. I think we have a lot of similarities.”
What is your favorite class in school, and why?
“My favorite class in school is math. I do very well. It comes easy to me.”
