Letter to Editor: Palitsch a ‘shining example of the very best of the Millennial Generation’

To the Editor:

As part of my job before retiring from WPI some 10 years ago, I read much of the literature about the Millennials – young folks born after 1982. One author refers to them as the “Next Greatest Generation”, echoing Tom Brokaw’s term for the hard working folks like my parents, who got us through the last world war. I thought “I can’t wait ‘till these kids grow up and run for public office”. Then, last weekend I crossed paths with Jason Palitsch at a neighborhood meet and greet. YES!

Unlike any other generation since WWII, Millennials have an uncommon commitment to each other and the greater common good. They are open and accepting, hardworking and anxious to volunteer their time to help others. Having served in state and federal government myself in prior jobs, I just knew they had exactly the right qualities for public office.

Jason is a shining example of the very best of the Millennial Generation. He’s amazingly well versed on the issues facing his constituents, has hands-on experience in the legislative branch, is mature and serious minded…and demonstrates an unselfish commitment to serving others. I’m totally delighted to see him step up to the challenge of elective office and urge Shrewsbury and Westborough residents to select him as their next representative in State government. He’ll serve us well and I’m sure he’s destined to long-term leadership in the public sector. Let’s get him launched!
