To the Editor:
I was dismayed to receive a “push poll” robocall relating to the race for State Representative in the 11th Worcester District. These “polls” are disguised political ads. They are identified by the nature of the questions asked about the candidates.
When questions about one candidate are all positive in tone and the questions about the other are negative, this is a not-too-subtle attempt to manipulate your opinion against one of the candidates.
Push polls are among the lowest forms of the political art and are actually advertisements that do not divulge their funding source. Voters should be aware.
