Hudson – Joshua M. Lucas, 26, of Hudson, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his home in Hudson.

Josh was born in Worcester and is survived by his mother and father, Kimberly L. Lucas of Louisville, Ky. and Steven L. Goyette of Holden. He was a lifelong resident of Hudson and worked as a blasting assistant alongside his grandfather, who is the owner and operator of Saunders Drilling and Blasting Co. of Lancaster.

He enjoyed being outdoors throughout his life whether he was riding his 4-wheel ATV, his dirt bike or snowmobile racing in the winter months. He was an accomplished speed skater winning many awards and also loved a good deep sea fishing trip.

Josh was a very giving and kind person. He was always available to help family and friends with various projects or chores they needed done. His care-free spirit and loving personality will be missed by all, especially by his German shepherd and best friend “Rocky.”

Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents who raised Josh, David and Wanda (Porter) Saunders of Hudson; his two sisters, Madison Goyette of Holden and Liberty Mitchell of Louisville, Ky; his brother, Hunter Mitchell of Louisville, Ky; and his paternal grandmother, Doris (Labbe) Goyette of Marlborough, and he was the grandson of the late Conrad Goyette. He also leaves his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 28, from 3-5 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. A celebration of Josh’s life will follow at 5 p.m. where all will be encouraged to share a special memory or moment in Josh’s life.
