Westborough – Mary M. Willwerth, 88, of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 27, 2015 at home. She was the wife of James A. Willwerth.

Born in Cohasset, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (O’Brien) Mulvey, and was educated in Cohasset schools. She also attended the Chandler School for Women in Boston.

Mary was employed as an administrative assistant for the Cohasset Public Schools, Gillette Safety Razor Co., the American Red Cross, and for Suburban Temps prior to her retirement.

She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, a member of the Westborough Women’s Club and the Westborough Country Club, past president of the League of Women Voters in Weymouth, past chairman of the Westborough Council On Aging, a member of the Board of Directors of Bay Path Home Care and the Westborough representative to AVCOA, the money manager for AARP Foundation, and a member of the Certified Professional Secretary Association.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Joan M. Balzarini and her husband Geno of Tyngsboro and Anne M. Schmitt and her husband Christopher of Westborough; one brother, Edward Mulvey of Cohasset; two sisters, Jane Trettis of Scituate and Elizabeth Marchesi of Wellesley; and two granddaughters, Mary Schmitt and Christine Schmitt.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m.,. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in St. Luke’s Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are Monday, March 30, from 4-7 p.m.,. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
