Northborough – The Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks baseball team defeated the Nashoba Regional High School Chieftains by a score of 5-1 in a game played April 13, under the lights on the artificial turf fields at the New England Baseball Complex. Although the game was played in Northborough, Algonquin was the visiting team for this game. This was the first game of the season for Nashoba.
Nashoba scored first with one run in the third inning. Algonquin did not put any runs on the scoreboard until the top of the sixth inning, where they sent nine men to the plate and scored five times, capped off with a 2-run single by Eric Hart. Matt Geoffrion and Nolan Kessinger each had two hits for Algonquin.
Algonquin improves to 3-0 on the season while Nashoba falls to 0-1.
