Marlborough – Jeane (Cowen) Mei, 88, died Monday, April 13, 2015 after a short period of failing health. She was the husband of the late Charles Mei, who died in 1975.

She was born in Hexam, England, the daughter of the late Percival and Olive (Jennings) Cowen, and lived in Marlborough for over 30 years.

Mrs. Mei worked as a waitress for Dairy Queen in Marlborough, the former Pete’s Diner, and the coffee shop at Framingham Union Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, David Mei of Marlborough and Daniel Mei of Milford; one daughter, Sharon Blanchette,; one sister, Sylvia Edwards of England; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, April 28, at 11 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday morning, from 9-11 a.m., prior to the service.
