Westborough – Westborough was founded when it split off from the bordering town of Marlborough. Westborough’s most famous native son, Eli Whitney Jr., a Yale University graduate, invented the cotton gin in 1795. Attend the Westborough Historical Society‚Äôs open house Sunday, May 3, from 2-4 p.m., and learn what the town will be celebrating in 2017. The historical society is located at the Sibley House, 13 Parkman St.
