Shrewsbury – Shrewsbury Little League’s Challenger Division is seeking “buddies” that can volunteer their time for both practices and games. The Challenger Division is a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges to enjoy the game of baseball. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field, but whenever possible encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. However, the buddy is always nearby to help when needed. Volunteers need to be available for both games and practices all season. Practices are from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Tuesdays at Upper Dean Park Softball Field beginning April 28. Games will be on Saturdays at 10 a.m. They will be held in Northborough, Shrewsbury and Millbury. To volunteer or for more information, contact Chip Collins at [email protected].
