Grafton – Sylvia E. (Soderberg) Wahlstrom, 77, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a short illness. She was surrounded by her family whom she adored.
She leaves her husband of 55 years, Gilbert P. Wahlstrom; her two sons, Ken Wahlstrom of Worcester and Kurt Wahlstrom of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her daughter, Kristen Magill and her husband Jay of Grafton; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Kelly, John, and Patrick Magill. She also leaves her sister, Nancy Stake Vigliatura; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Sophie. She was predeceased by her two brothers, David and Robert Soderberg.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Carl and Alma Soderberg. Sylvia was dedicated to her children and grandchildren, and spent a lot of quality time with them taking trips and having cookouts. She enjoyed reading books on the beach or by the Cape Cod Canal while her husband fished.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 9, from 3-5 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Per the family’s request funeral services will be private.
