Obit Lena E. CornacchioliNorth Grafton – Lena E. (DiMarzio) Cornacchioli, 92, of Forest Lane in North Grafton, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a short illness. Her beloved husband of 41 years, Frank L. Cornacchioli, died in 1988.

She leaves her three devoted daughters, Diane M., wife of Gary Adamowicz, Carolyn V., wife of James Hamilton, both of Worcester, and Francine A. Cornacchioli and her partner Mary Lucas of Belchertown; three adoring grandchildren, Mark Adamowicz and his wife Jessica of Sutton, Karen DesRosiers and her husband Michael of Worcester, and Kerri Kuklentz and her husband Matthew of Arlington; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Berkeley and Ruby Adamowicz, Isabella and Alec DesRosiers, Mackenzie and Sawyer Kuklentz; and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Clara L. Magnuson and Ann Dube, and three brothers, Michael, Anthony and Edward DiMarzio, predeceased her.

Lena was born in Worcester, daughter of Giuseppe and Congetta (Stansiland) DiMarzio, and moved to Grafton in 1961. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester.

She was a timekeeper at Wickwire-Spencer in Worcester and a cashier at Iandoli’s Market in Worcester for many years.

Lena was a devout Catholic and a long-time parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in North Grafton. She was an active member of the Grafton Senior Center and enjoyed playing poker and whist with her many friends. She also enjoyed reading and was an avid Red Sox fan. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her entire family. They enjoyed sharing meals together and constantly trying, without luck, to reproduce Lena’s legendary Italian cooking.

Lena will be most remembered for her warm smile and genuine heart.

All are invited to gather with Lena’s family and friends Tuesday, May 12, from 5-8 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Her funeral Mass will be Wednesday, May 13, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church in North Grafton. She will then be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
