Obit Martin NewarkWestborough – Martin E. “Marty” Newark, 90, of Westborough, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, May 7, 2015. He was the husband of the late Faith E. (Grant) Newark.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Francis and May (White) Newark. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Rutgers University. During WWII, he served with the United States Army.

Marty was employed as a ceramic engineer at Bay State Abrasives for many years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of The Congregational Church of Westborough, the Westborough Civic Club, Garden Club, Westborough Community Chorus, the Senior Center, Habitat for Humanity and the Audubon Society. He was also a former Boy Scout Leader.

Marty is survived by his four children, Lisa B. Larson and her husband Ricky of North Attleborough, Brian F. Newark and his wife Cindy of East Douglas, Madeline F. Boehnke of North Grafton, and Carrie M. Dubinsky and her husband John of Sutton; nine grandchildren, Tory, Ashleigh, Sasha, Marissa, Cam, Becky, Cierra, Dale, and Reece; and one great-grandchild, Paxton.

Calling hours are Wednesday, May 13, from 4-7 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 14, at 11 a.m., in The Congregational Church of Westborough, 57 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
