Westborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this morning regarding an extremely busy morning for the town’s emergency responders.
On 5/13/15, the Westborough Police responded to 6 crashes between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
The first crash occurred at 6:02 AM on Rte. 9 W at Windsor Ridge Apartments. A 2012 Toyota Camry being operated by Markendy Frederique, age 24 of 238 Beacon St. Framingham had a blow out in one of his tires. The vehicle left the roadway striking a utility pole which fell onto the roadway which resulted in a fire along the wooded area adjacent to the road. Rte. 9W was shut down for approximately 45 minutes. Frederique was transported by Westborough Fire Ambulance to U. Mass Medical for minor injuries.
A second accident occurred at 7:20 AM directly across from the first accident. This involved 3 vehicles with no injuries.
A third accident occurred at 7:25 AM on Rte. 9W approximately ¼ mile before the first accident. This involved 2 vehicles with no injuries.
A fourth accident occurred at 8:05 AM on Rte. 9W in the same area ¼ mile before the first accident. This involved 2 vehicles with no injuries.
The fifth accident occurred at 8:18 AM on Flanders Rd. at Longmeadow Rd. This involved 2 vehicles with no injuries.
The sixth accident was at 8:27 AM on Rte. 9E at Gerardo’s Bakery. This involved 2 vehicles with no injuries.
