Update on Route 20 resurfacing project in Northborough

traffic conesNorthborough – The town of Northborough has issued a press release about the progress of the ongoing Route 20 resurfacing project and related work:

The Mass DOT project along route 20 in Northborough consists of micro-milling to a depth of two inches and resurfacing Route 20 from Tomblin Hill Road to the Marlborough town line, excluding the portion of Route 20 recently improved within the Downtown area. The project also includes the removing, resetting and/or rebuilding of curbing, drainage and sanitary sewer structures, guardrail, sidewalk and wheelchair ramps. This project is expected to be completed by May 2015.

May 18 through May 22:

Grinding will continue for the installation of the lane lines and markers, including STOP bars and crosswalks. Guardrail, curb, wheel chair ramp and sidewalk replacement at various locations will continue. The contractor will be installing bump panels at crosswalks at the at the Times Square intersection. The contractor will maintain two way traffic during all daytime operations during the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Please note: there will be a slight change to the traffic patterns at the intersection of Main Street and Summer Street once the lane markings are complete.

Please use caution at all times when traveling along the construction route. Also, please note speeding fines are doubled within the work zone until the project is complete.
