Hudson – George M. Braga, 58, father and good friend to many, peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015, leaving his pain and suffering behind.

George is survived by his two children, Mitch and Ariel. He leaves behind his mother, Angelina, with whom he lived, and was predeceased by his father, Manuel Braga, in 1998. George is also survived by his sisters, Lidia Roy and her husband Dennis, who helped him through his illness, and Lina Correia and her husband Duarte, who reside in Portugal with their three children, Jackie, Nicky and Duarte Nuno. He also leaves his good friend and cousin, Antonio “Tony” Moreira, who had been by his side throughout this difficult year, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

George was employed in the past year by the Entwistle Company in Hudson and was the prior owner of the restaurant Li’l Texas. He previously was employed at the Hudson Portuguese Club.

George will be remembered for his zest for life, his love of his family and the Island of Santa Maria, Azores. His final wish in life was to return to live a peaceful existence in Portugal. His wish to be returned to Santa Maria will be carried out by his beloved family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 6, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial services will be held in Santa Maria, Portugal at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tighe–Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. of Hudson.

In lieu of flowers at the request of the family, donations in memory of George may be made to VNA Care Network and Hospice, 199 Rosewood Dr., Danvers, MA 01923.
