Webster Five names Russ Dye SVP, senior lending officer of the business lending team

Region – Webster Five Cents Savings Bank has named Russ Dye, senior vice president, senior lending officer. Joining Webster Five in the fall of 2014, Dye was one of three team leaders of the business banking department. In his new leadership role, he will join the senior management team and direct the business lending division to continually increase earning assets in the commercial enterprise segment.

With over 30 years of experience in commercial lending, Dye began his career at Bankers Trust Co. in Manhattan. After several years, he accepted a new position as vice president with Old National Bank in Seattle. Russ moved to Worcester in the mid-80s, where he held positions locally in commercial lending for Mechanics Bank, Bank of Boston, First Massachusetts Bank, Bank North and Commonwealth National. Prior to joining Webster Five, Russ was most recently a team leader at United Bank.

Throughout his career, Dye has developed many close relationships with his customers and expanded his knowledge in the banking industry.

“With his experience and new responsibilities as senior lending officer, we are confident that Russ will be successful leading one of the largest and knowledgeable business banking teams in the Worcester area,” stated Don Doyle, executive vice president. “He will do a great job in representing our commercial lending division and the senior management team.”

Dye is a former recipient of the Business Lender of the Year award from Worcester Development Corporation. He holds a BA in English literature from Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y., and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He has volunteered for the YMCA of Central Massachusetts for many years and was its chairman of the board for the past two years.
