Obit Alan C. GovatsosShrewsbury – Alan C. Govatsos, 65, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Marlborough and Wellesley, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 32 years, Angela (Wellen) Govatsos. He also leaves a sister, Charlotte M. Trubiani and her husband Vincent of Wellesley; a brother, Christopher C. Govatsos and his wife Susan of Norwell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Boston, son of the late Charles A. and Iris (Moran) Govatsos, and had lived in Shrewsbury for several years. He was a 1968 graduate of Wellesley High School and also was a graduate of Boston University with an Associate’s Degree in Business.

For most of his life, Alan was employed as an Account Executive for several companies, including Micro United of California and G.B.C. Technologies of N.J., and also was V.P. of Business Development for Easy 411 of Mass.

He loved Formula 1 races, speed boats, the Celtics, the Red Sox, and the Patriots.

A celebration of his life was held June 26 in the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc. of Marlborough. Cremation will follow and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611 or to Buddy Dog Humane Society, Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776.
