Southborough resident honored by Assumption College

Worcester – Assumption College honored 20 members of the class of 2015 last month with the College’s prestigious Crown and Shield Awards. Among them was Southborough resident Tracy Baldelli, a psychology major and philosophy minor. Baldelli graduated from Assumption on May 16 with a bachelor of arts degree.

The Crown and Shield Award recognizes students who have distinguished themselves throughout their four years at Assumption in the areas of leadership and community service. The recipients have protected (shield) and furthered (crown) the interests of the student body and Assumption and were nominated by faculty, staff, and administration.

Baldelli was recognized for being a volunteer and service director for Assumption’s Reach Out Center (community service organization through which students gain positive and rewarding experiences through volunteering in the greater Worcester community), part of the inaugural group of students to study at Assumption’s Rome campus, an Admissions Ambassador, a Student Government Association class senator, a Student Conduct Board member; a mentor to first-year students; and for taking part in a SEND service immersion trip. She plans to pursue a career in the development and fundraising field.
