Obit Charles HitchcockSouth Grafton/Gardner – Charles E. “Chas” Hitchcock, 21, of Gardner, formerly of South Grafton, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 after an unexpected illness.

He is survived by his mother, Annmarie Castonguay; his maternal grandparents, Edith and George Streicher; his father, John Hitchcock; paternal grandparents Judy and Robert Hitchcock; his stepfather, Ken Castonguay; stepbrother Josh Castonguay; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chas was born Nov. 27, 1993 in Southbridge and grew up in South Grafton, attending Blackstone Valley Tech High School and graduating from Grafton Job Corps. He was part of the Grafton Boy Scout Troop 107 where he spent many hours and built close friendships, served in the U.S. Army and more recently was part of the Veterans Outreach in Gardner where he was living.

All are invited to gather with Charles’s family and friends Monday, July 27, from 9-11 a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, 51 Cottage St., Whitinsville. Burial will be private at his family’s convenience.
