Marlborough – More than 150 golfers and volunteers joined together July 13 for the 23rd annual Kids Classic Golf Tournament in memory of Bob “RF” Wood held at the Marlborough Country Club. The event, presented by DCU for Kids, raised over $40,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest (BGCMW).

Golfers enjoyed 18 holes of golf, lunch on the course provided by Panera Bread of Marlborough, a cocktail reception and dinner. They also participated in raffles, betting holes and contests throughout the day, including a Hole-in-One contest for a 2015 Nissan Altima donated by Marlboro Nissan. Other sponsors included Ken’s Foods, Inc., and Align Credit Union.

“We really appreciate all the wonderful support from our golfers, sponsors and event donors,” said Fran Hurley, president of BGCMW. “This year we had another great partnership on the tournament with the Wood family to benefit our club kids in MetroWest.”
