Westborough – Ethole “Stathoula” Stavropoulos, 86, of Westborough, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015. She was the wife of the late John Stavropoulos.

Born in Saga, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Andreas and Akaterini (Koutzoulis) Vasilopoulos and was educated in Greece.

Ethole came to the United States in 1968 settling in the Chicago, Ill. area. She was employed in the packing department for Nabisco Co. prior to her retirement. She and her family moved to Westborough in 1998.

She was an active member of Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Marlborough. She also contributed to the Worcester Food Bank, and in 2013 was given recognition for her contributions to the food bank. She enjoyed travelling throughout the world with her sister and enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Ethole is survived by one daughter, Theodora S. Choros and her husband John of Westborough; one brother, Fr. Vasilios Vasilopoulos of Greece; three sisters, Vasiliki Gatseos of Greece, Christina Demos of Chicago, and Marina Kolovos of Palos Hills, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Konstantina, Efstathia, and Yiannoula Choros.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 5-8 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Fr. Greg will offer Trisagion Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services and burial will take place in Greece.
