Obit James TrippMarlborough – James S. Tripp, 63, of Marlborough, died peacefully Wednesday, July 29, 2015 after a brave battle with throat cancer. Born in Marlborough, he was the son of William “Red” Tripp of Marlborough and the late Sally (Monroe) Tripp.

A graduate of Marlborough High School, class of 1970, Jim worked for the Boys and Girls Club organization in various locations for many years. He also worked as a bartender at Sully’s First Edition Pub and was a freelance interior painter.

He was a member of the Bolton Street Association and the Hudson-Concord Lodge of Elks, and was proud to be on the Board of Directors for the Marlborough Country Club. Jim was an avid golfer who loved spending time with family and friends, of which he had many.

Besides his dad, he is survived by his life partner of 25 years, Patricia (Tish) Bouvier; his sisters, Catherine Tripp of Northborough and Kathleen Terra and her husband Victor of Marlborough, William Tripp of Framingham, Karen Mauro of Cape Cod; and his sister in-law, Coleen Tripp of Connecticut, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Roger Tripp, who died in 1993. Jimmy (JJ) was also very important in the lives of Tishy’s children, Eddie Bouvier III and his wife Terri, Jackie Aschettino and her husband Mike, and Lisa Scraggs, as well as to her grandchildren, Rachael, Michael, Jacob, Emilie and Ryan, whom he treated as his own. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. An hour of visitation will also be held Thursday, Aug. 6, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
