Obit Virginia SpragueJupiter, Fla. – Virginia K. “Jane” Sprague, 88, in Jupiter, Fla., formerly of Shrewsbury and Westborough, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at the Jupiter Pavilion Hospice.

Born in Westborough, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Dorothy (Bent) Palmer. She was educated in Westborough schools and was a 1944 graduate of Westborough High School.

Following her marriage, she traveled throughout the world from Westborough to Athens, Greece to Hawaii and back due to her husband’s Air Force military obligations. While living in Alexandria, Va. she owned and operated The Village House, a beautiful ladies apparel shop.

Jane has resided in Jupiter for three years, near her daughter, previously living in Shrewsbury for many years. She enjoyed decorating her home, collecting antiques and English teapots. She was a talented seamstress and loved to take country day trips with family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn “Dickens” Rosenberry of Jupiter, Fla., two close and special nieces, Janet Nicalek and Kim Palmer, as well as 16 other loving nieces and nephews and their families. She is also survived by her dear and wonderful friends, Kathy and Joe Grenier and their family. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Diane V. Bagley; her beloved soul mate, Luis Zuretti; her siblings, Dorothy Goodwin, Thomas Palmer, Bud Palmer, and Mary Kuney; and a nephew, David Zuretti.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m., in the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Westborough. A calling hour will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
